I remember

the first picture I ever took. My father was exploring the route that John Andre took when secreting maps out of West Point to take to the British commanders. When we came to the stone marker, he let me use his camera to take a picture of it.

When I enrolled at Pratt Institute, I still didn’t own a camera. I studied everything but photography. Then my father upgraded, and I got his old Canon. I set up my own darkroom for color and black and white film and print.

When the photography world went digital, I
resisted until I couldn’t anymore. These are
some of my favorite digital photos, culled
from thousands of images over the years.

One of these days I’ll get to the old negatives
and slides.
